The Nassau Chapter covers Nassau County on Long Island. The Nassau Chapter Board meets every month (except July and August), usually at Molloy College in Rockville Centre. On four or five months of the year, the Chapter Board meetings are followed by a Progam Committee get-together and succeeded by an educational program and a meeting of our "Transitioning to Private Practice" mentorship group. The Chapter Board meetings, educational programs and this mentorship group are open to Chapter members without charge. The Chapter also holds an annual education conference each December and a spring book brunch. At the brunch, the author of a book relevant to clinical social work practice is invited to present their work and hold discussion with the group. In October, the Chapter holds an annual new member brunch to welcome new members of the Chapter, at which an educational workshop is presented. You may check the Nassau Chapter Calendar for information about these meetings, educational programs and other activities. CEU credits are available for most of our programs. In May, we have our end-of-year brunch at the home of one of our members for those members who have been active in or contributed to the work of the chapter. The Nassau Chapter has a number of committees. Some of these committees help carry out Chapter functions (Book Author Brunch Committee, Membership Committee, Newsletter Committee, Peer Consultation Committee, Program Committee and Website Committee) or connect with larger State Society committees which address statewide issues (Legislative Committee and Vendorship Committee). Other committees are practice committees which bring together members who are interested in particular areas of clinical social work practice (Child, Adolescent and Family Committee). If you have any questions about a committee or would like to join a committee, you may contact the committee's chairperson listed below. And do check the Nassau Chapter Calendar for information about committee meetings and programs. Should you have an idea for a practice committee or educational program, please tell us. The Nassau Chapter offers excellent opportunities for networking and education here on Long Island and we invite you to take advantage of these as you get to know your colleagues. We welcome your attendance at our monthly meetings, bi-monthly educational programs, annual education conference, annual book author brunch, annual new member brunch and other activities, to learn about the Society and the Nassau Chapter, to join with us and to participate actively in Nassau Chapter activities.
